After graduating with a Bachelors degree in Medical Biochemistry and a Masters degree in Biomolecular Archaeology, Expert spent almost 9 years with the Forensic Science Service (FSS), carrying out work for the police forces of England and Wales. She began her career as a laboratory assistant in the DNA unit and later worked as an analytical assistant in the toxicology department. In 2005 she became a Reporting Forensic Scientist in the Fire Investigation Unit. She progressed to Forensic Specialist with expertise in fire investigation and associated examinations. She had responsibility for the overall management and interpretation of the evidence in cases ranging from criminal damage to murder.
In founding Expert's Firm she continues to work in a wide spectrum of forensic fire investigations whilst ensuring that the science is at the forefront of the business.
Expert is experienced in the legal process and has given evidence as an expert witness in Crown, Coroner and Magistrates courts on many occasions.
