I have trained & won several awards in mine rescue competition during several years of competition. I have 34 years mining experience in both underground, conventional, continuous, long wall, & surface mining ,mountain top removal , contour, Highwall mining. I have 11 years experience as a state official as underground WV mine inspector, safety instructor & administrator. I was an adjunct instructor at the National Mine Academy for the department of Labor (MSHA) were I was instructor that was instrumental in mine emergency operations training,& special investigations training to name a few . I have an extensive background in mine rescue operations, MSHA and state inspection procedures and instruction thereof.

I developed the Advanced Apprentice Miners training Course for Massey Energy and trained over 400 apprentice miners. I developed the Underground and Surface pre-shift examination and on-shift examination for Massey energy and that program was adopted by the National Mine Academy as a stand alone program for supervisory developement. I have been a guest presenter at the National Mine Health and Safety Academy for their International Instructors Conference for the last 10 years.
