Summary of Expertise:

Listed with other top experts in:

Expert has a MSc in chemical engineering and a PhD in pure and applied biochemistry. Her PhD thesis was on enzyme technology (enzymatic synthesis) and molecular imprinting (preparation of chiral liquid chromatography stationary phases). Expert carried out postdoctoral studies in a peptide synthesis lab and became skilled in solid-phase synthesis methods, combinatorial chemistry, and methods for characterization and purification of peptides. In advanced materials, Expert has more than 20 years of research experience of developing molecularly imprinted polymers ("plastic antibodies"), more than 15 years experience of developing solid-phase synthesis supports, 10 years experience of developing magnetic beads, and 5 years experience of developing nanoparticles (including polymer-magnetite nanocomposites for applications in nanomedicine and nanobiotechnology). Expert has been a coordinator of an EC-funded project on the development of methods for analysis of antibiotics in milk, involving international partners from industry and academia. Her research has resulted in several patents and and commercialized products. She is familiar with most major methods and techniques in chemistry, biochemistry, and biotechnology. She has leadership experience from being a PI and group leader in academia and she has been trained in leadership by the Swedish Foundation of Strategic Research. Expert is fluent in English and Swedish and is knowledgeable of Danish, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.
