Expert has worked in the fields of bioinorganic, bioorganic, and biophysical chemistry for the past 20 years. Expert runs a large research group at the Expert's University, in the Department of Chemistry, and mentors graduate students and postdocs in many different project areas. The lab has published more than 50 papers and Expert serves as a regular reviewer of federal grants as well as manuscripts submitted to top journals in these fields. Expert's lab made the first molecular measurement of radon binding to a molecular host in the past year, and is a world expert in noble gases, particularly xenon and radon.

Expert has more than 15 years of experience in protein chemistry. Expert has served as an expert witness in commercial litigation surrounding an enzyme-based project. He showed definitively that the product in question did function as advertised. This case was successfully settled in favor of the defendant, who also won on the counter charges. Expert was deposed in these cases by the plaintiffs.

Expert has a broad background in fluorescence spectroscopy and microscopy, and has published numerous papers in these areas. In addition, the Expert laboratory is a leading center for MRI contrast agent development, with a focus on the isotope Xe-129. Most recently, Expert has served as an expert witness for two cases representing plaintiffs who were injured by Omniscan, a common gadolinium MRI contrast agent, which is produced by GE. The first case has already been settled successfully, in favor of the plaintiffs. Expert was deposed in this case by the defense, a team of GE lawyers.
