Expert has three decades of experience in natural gas distribution systems up to 7 bar, whether constructed in polyethylene (PE), steel, ductile iron or cast iron, the latter being in legacy (old) systems. Expert is experienced in considering design issues and has significant operational experience. He understands gas safety legislation and national standards and their relevance to gas networks. Expert has particular experience in the supply of gas to and within buildings, including timber-framed buildings, and sits on the national IGEM G/5 panel for gas in flats and other multi-occupancy buildings. Expert also has some practical gas meter, installation pipework and utilisation experience, and has current basic Gas Safe registration via another company in these areas. Expert is a member of the British Standards panel on domestic gas meter installations, BS 6400. He was previously also a member of the IGEM panels on pressure regulating installations and timber-framed buildings. In the past, Expert worked with a number of manufacturers as they developed innovative equipment for use in gas distribution.
