Expert has been active in the field of epidemiology and biostatistics for over 20 years. He has extensive experience in the analysis of longitudinal data, as well as the analysis of survey, and case-control data. He has been an author of more than 60 articles that have been published in peer-reviewed litterature, and has lectured graduate students at the University of Ottawa, and University of Toronto in biostatistics, as well as epidemiologic methods. Much of his research has focussed on environmental and occupational causes of cancer. Specific environmental exposures that he has investigated include: radon, air pollution, electromagnetic fields, tobacco use, dioxin, and diesel emissions. He was awarded a professional statistician (P.Stat) designation from the Statistical Society of Canada in 2006, and maintains an adjunct faculty position with the University of Toronto.

Training/Seminars
He has given lectures in the areas of biostatistics and epidemiology. In 2000, he was the course instructor for a graduate level biostatistics course that was mandatory for graduate students enrolled in the Epidemiology program at the University of Ottawa. He has given lectures on epidemiological methods, survival analysis, logistic regression, and methods used in longitudinal studies.
