Expert was a weather observer from 1951 to 1966 at military airfields in the UK Far East and Germany. He was promoted to forecaster in 1966 and served at mainly miitary sirfields in the UK and overseas from 1966 to 1984. From 1984 to 1988 he was employed in the legal section of the UK Met. Office at HQ Bracknell. ( Now in Exeter ) In 1986 he was promoted to Senior Scientific Officer and ran the section. The section privided weather reports on all mannner of civil and criminal cases. Expert has appeared in criminal and civil courts as an expert on the weather on a number of occasions. In 1988 he left the Met. Office to start Expert's Firm, forensic meteorologist. Since 1988 Expert has prepared weather reports on murder, manslaughter rape GBH ABH drug smuggling, Road traffic accidents. burglary etc. Civil cases, personal injury in aircraft., in shops, in icy surfaces, road traffic accidents on wet and icy roads, RTA's in bright sunlight, in fog, Storms. Storm damage to buildings due to high winds. Notable Cases in which weather reports have been prepared: Penhaligon V Cornwall CC. R V Agis ( Dreamspace ) Body in a box near Andover ( murder ) . Injury to Airline Hostesses on floghts UK USA and Atlantic Ocean near W. Africa,. Goods v E. Sussex CC ( RTA appealed to the House of Lords ) Expert has appeared on TV in Science Detectives on channel 4. RTA involving fog and a 60 vehicle pile up on the A1(m).
