Expert area of expertise is in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the breast. She has a vast amount of experience in treating both benign and malignant diseases of the breast. In her clinical practice, she reviews and interprets thousands of mammograms and ultrasounds a year. Though her specialty is breast surgery, she is familiar with all aspects of breast cancer care. She performs minimally invasive breast biopsies, as well as a vast array of breast surgeries, including open biopsies, needle guided breast biopsies, partial mastectomies, simple mastectomy, total mastectomy, sentinel lymph node biopsies, axillary lymph node dissection, modified radical mastectomy, skin sparing mastectomy, subcutaneous mastectomy for gynecomastia, and prophylactic mastectomy. Expert is a Board Certified surgeon since 2004. She completed a fellowship in Diseases of the Breast in 2004. She is the Director of a Comprehensive Breast Center and in addition runs a busy clinical practice as a dedicated breast surgeon. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of The American Society of Breast Surgeons and the American Medical Association.

Expert is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, and the American Society of Breast Surgeons, where she has served on the membership committee since 2006. In addition, Expert is on the Board of Living beyond Breast Cancer, an organization dedicated to enriching the lives of people affected by breast cancer through education and support. She has served on this board since 2005.

Expert has served as Director of the Breast Health Program for a three hospital system since 2004. She is also the Breast Surgery Section Chief for the Department of Surgery.

Medical/Professional Internships
Expert got her medical degree in 1998. She then completed her training in general surgery in 2003. From there she went on to do a fellowship in diseases of the breast. She completed the fellowship in June of 2004, and then went on to get her Board Certification in General Surgery in December of 2004. In 2009, she was made a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
