Expert was responsible for the development of a novel, biocompatible, bioactive, bone-like bone cement, suitable for usage in craniofacial applications. Expert completed his PhD in Medical Materials Engineering at Kings College University of London in May of 2004, having obtained a 2:1 in the Life Sciences at the Imperial College. During his doctoral studies, Expert won a number of national and international awards including: best oral presentation by a young researcher at both the United Kingdom Society for Biomaterials Research Annual Conference (2003) and the European Society for Biomaterials Annual Congress (2002), for his work on Polymer-modified Calcium Phosphate Cements. Expert is experienced in multiple life and physical science disciplines including material characterisation and cytotoxicity testing, using a variety of cell lines.
Expert worked for Granta Design Ltd., as an author of a major medical devices database. In addition to designing the structure of the database, Expert wrote over 250,000 words of content citing over 4,000 references. It is through this experience as technical author that DR M, attained a detailed knowledge on a variety of subjects including: thrombo-resistance, biodegradation, bioglass and bioceramics. In addition, during his time at Granta design Ltd., Expert became familiar with the FDA approval process for devices and established contacts within a number of major international medical device companies.
