After receiving his M.D. from Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1993, Expert completed his residency in otolaryngology at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 1998 and additional fellowship training in Rhinology and Allergy at the University of Chicago in 1999. He obtained the Chief Resident in Otolaryngology his final year, overseeing the clinical work of multiple junior residents, teaching residents and students and had on-call responsibilities. He recently accepted a position as a Resident Education and Curriculum committee member, assisting in the evaluation and assessment of various resident training and educational programs. He began serving as the Director of Rhinology, Sinus and Allergy as well as an Education Director at a major teaching hospital in 1999 and has held the position for over 10 years now. He has experience organizing and moderating Medico-legal conferences on malpractices. He is also a member of the Research and Academic Council. He has been a member of the sleep apnea committee since 2005.
