He was trained in Virginia in general surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery for six years after he recieved his MD in 1995. He is also certified in Advanced Burn Life Support by the American Burn Association, Advanced Trauma Life Support by the American College of Surgeons, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support by the American Heart Association. He founded and currently serves as President and plastic surgeon at his a plastic surgery private practice in CA. Before that, he served as Chief Surgical House Officer at two medical centers in Virginia for four years. His professional experience included foreign missions with the Operation Kids Foundation in Guatemala for the past nine years providing relief missions and operating on children with cleft lips/palates, burns, congenital anomalies, hand injuries, etc. He is a member of numerous national plastic surgery societies and associations. He has served and still serves on several committees of various national associations and societies of plastic surgery such as the Product Advisory Committee, Public Education Communications Committee and the Ethics Committee of the ASPS. He is published in plastic and reconstructive surgery, Plastic Surgical Forum, Annals of Surgical Oncology Proceedings of the Royal Society of London, and the Journal of Comparative Physiology Anatomy with a book chapter publication on Body Contouring Following Significant Weight Loss. His lectures include topics such as Aesthetic Lasers and Surgery, Aesthetic Surgery and Adjunctive Procedures, Anti-Aging Laser and Non-Laser Therapy, Lasers in Aesthetic Medicine, Aesthetic Lasers and the 3D Concept, Aesthetic Laser Principles and Application, Foreign Plastic Surgery, Modern Aesthetic Surgery, New Techniques in Aesthetic Surgery, Body Contouring after Morbid Obesity Surgery, Blepharoptosis, Asian Blepharoplasty, Breast Augmentation, Physical Symptoms and Body Image in Reduction, The Lateral Circumflex Artery, Mallet Finger, Phases of Skin Graft Survival, Flexor Tendon Avulsions and Ruptures, and Accurate Nodal Staging of Malignant Melanoma.
