Expert has completed an ophthalmology residency, a fellowship in glaucoma, and have served as Chief Resident at Washington University for one year. He co-founded a refractive surgery center and a wholesale optical surfacing laboratory and has been the principal investigator for approximately 34 FDA clinical trials for ocular pharmaceuticals and devices over a 15 year period. He is an inventor and fully understand the issues of intellectual property, holding many patents in his name. He started his own private practice in ophthalmology 16 years ago, and has built up his patient population to around 23,000 patients. He sees patients of all ages, and because of his broad training, can truly practice Comprehensive Ophthalmology. He is also certified in ETDRS Vision Evaluation and Refraction (2005), in Good Clinical Practices (2004), Electronic Data Capture (2004) and in Office of Human Protections (2005).

Expert has given numerous presentations nationwide on clinical opthalmology and orbital anatomy. He is familar with issues dealing with the corneal endothelium and cornea, the atrial natriuretic factor and intraocular pressure, bilateral Petter' anomaly, protocols and apparatus to measure digital pressure on the eye, optic cup asymmetry risk factors, biomicroscopy of implanted STAAR intraocular contact lenses in humans and ophthalmic emulsion for postoperative inflammation and pain. He has published several articles on the previously mentioned topics and has been recognized on several occasions by the ASCRS and the ARVO for his outstanding presentations.
