Expert is board certified in general adult psychiatry, child psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He was trained in Psychiatric and completed a child psychiatric fellowship in Maine before moving to Hawaii to complete a second, post-graduate fellowship in child psychiatry. Before starting his own private practice in psychiatry, he was a Clinical instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at his affiliated institution. His professional career experiences include being an Attending psychiatrist for six years, Child psychiatric consultant for four years, Program psychiatrist and a general adult Psychiatric consultant for another four years at seven different children and psychiatric hospitals. He has been in private practice in Honolulu for 30 years. Currently he has an outpatient practice with adults, adolescents, and children. His forensic experience has been entirely in the civil branch, i.e. medical malpractice and tort--both for plaintiffs and defense, but the vast majority [3,000+ cases] have been in the workers' compensation and long-term psychiatric disability arenas.
