He is the Coordinator of the Global Network for Perinatal and Reproductive Health (GNPRH), which is affiliated with the International Clinical Epidemiology Network (INCLEN). His work in GNPRH includes conducting applied research in prevention of maternal and neonatal death and disability, mainly in developing countries. His clinical interests include preterm labor, ultrasound in pregnancy, maternal disease in pregnancy and prenatal diagnosis. His special interests are prevention of prematurity, maternal mortality, reproductive tract infections, particularly in an international context.

His consulting experiences include advising for the World Health Organization on issues concerning health in both North and South America. He also served as a regional advisory panelist for several South American and Central American countries. His most current consulting experiences include serving as an expert consultant on the POPPHI Project as well as the Oxytocin Challenge for a company that is dedicated to the promotion of advancing technology in heath.

Expert is a member of the following associatons: Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine, American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, International Clinical Epidemiology Network (INCLEN), American Public Health Association, Oregon Medical Association, International Society for Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Society for Nicotine and Tobacco Research.

Expert is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania (inactive), Oregon, Washington state.

Expert has held over 15 editorial appointments as a reviewer for numerous journals. He currently holds an editorial appointment for the International Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology. He has also been appointed as Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology for several institutions including his current appointment as Associate Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Expert's University. He has been appointed Project Director for the PNLS, Coordinator for the INCLEN Reproductive Health Working Group, Founder and Coordinator for the Global Network for Perinatal and Reproductive Health, Director of the Research in Reproductive Health Division at Jefferson Medical College and Director of Perinatal Research at Sacred Heart Medical Center. He currently holds several hospital appointments at 5 different hospitals. He also serves as a committee member at several committees including the Global Network for Women's and Children's Health Research, Committee on Promotion and Tenure, Committee on Research at Jefferson Medical College and Graduate Medical Education Committee.

Expert was awarded the following honors: Technical Cooperation Scholarship from the British Government, the Rockefeller Foundation M.S. Scholarship (INCLEN) for the study Clinical Epidemiology, the Clarence C. Briscoe Award for excellence in teaching and practice of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Dean's Citation for Faculty Mentoring at Jefferson Medical College and the Travel award (International Competition).

He completed fellowships in Perinatology at the University of London and in Clinical Epidemiology and Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia.
