Duties included creation of innovative applications, test and measurement solutions for the product line of power amplifiers used in hand-held units. The responsibilities included ADS simulations of Power Amplifiers' application in various environments (various digital communication standards), automation of test equipment, design verification, publishing application notes, as well as intensive interaction with customers, domestic and international.

Senior Design Engineer

Duties were to lead designs of Power Amplifiers for wireless base stations. Completed designs included an innovative solution for lineups, power supply protective circuits, and RF predistorter. Leading the brand-new design of “smart” amplifiers on extremely tight schedule with multi-national teams cooperating from various locations. Winning the customers approval and loyalty by creating on-time innovative solutions and providing extensive customer support. The linearization effort is focusing on a number of the state-of-the-art (best in industry) RF predistorter solutions. The linearization procedure consists of initial simulations (using Agilent ADS software package), breadboarding, RF measurements, and implementation of the final designs according to the PCB layout requirements.

1998 to 2001

System Architect of cellular phones working in EDGE and WCDMA formats. Duties included transmitter & receiver RF performance evaluations (using Agilent ADS package). Simulations included a creation of independent transmitter simulation platforms (p/4DQPSK, 8PSK, EDGE and WCDMA) with DSP and RF simulations as well as with MATLAB co-simulation; measurements confirming the software predictions (using the latest available HP measuring equipment); similar evaluations of a receiver; determination of the "bottlenecks", within-the-team solution finding for the best architectural approach. Specific focus is on the techniques for the linearization of Power Amplifiers.

System Architect for cellular phones (1997-1998) Duties included software evaluation of the RF performance of the telephone Lead RF engineer for RF Cellular/PCS accessories (1996-1997). Duties included the design of a PCS Booster Amplifier. Developer of Digital Radio's Front-End for indoor wireless communications (1990-1996). Specific duties included an innovative design of RF portions of a transmitter (Power Amplifier) and 4-position RF switch.

Developed a new product line of passive receiver components (Mixers, Switches, Attenuators, etc.) in the frequency range up to 3 GHz. Designed active components, like Amplifiers, FET Oscillators, as well as their combinations (subsystems). Used commercially available software (TOUCHSTONE) as a tool for designs. Extensively used computerized network analy¬zers, spectrum analyzers, generators, PC computers. Developed custom made programs for automation of measurements.
