Expert worked for Air Products and Chemicals for over 32 years. During that tenure He managed the construction and operation of the Hometown Specialty Gas plant as the Operations Manager.. This plant is one of the largest production units for the production of gaseous Fluorine in the U.S. . This plant electrolyzed HF to produce Fluorine that was then used to also make other products such as Sulfur Hexafluoride, Cylinder Fluorine, 20% Fluorine/Nitrogen mixtures, Nitrogen Trifluoride , CF4, ClF3, and others.
The plant also produced High Pressure Gas mixtures for calibration purposes. In addition Expert managed six Field Specialty Gas plants focused on regional supply iof mixtures to the regional markets as well as four high pressure Helium plants- bringing in liquid Helium and compressing thatr into cylinders, tube trailers or dewars.
