Summary of Expertise:
Listed with other top experts in: |
He has extensive biochemical research expertise in a laboratory setting. He is able to design research experiments, carry out the necessary research, analyze the results obtained and publish those results in peer-reviewed journals.
He has taught biochemistry for over thirty years and has actively pursued research in biochemistry for over forty years.
Expert spent two years as a post-doctoral associate in a biophysical chemistry laboratory learning various techniques such as analytical ultracentrifugation, pycnometry, and other structure/funciton techniques.
He received his Ph.D. in biophysics from the University of Wisconsin where he analyzed ribosomes using small-angle x-ray scattering and ultracentrifugal techniques. The studies were made on complex molecular structures called ribosomes, the protein factories of cells.
He has taught graduate courses in nucleic acid structure and function for over 30 years. In addition, his research involves using deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) probes to identify active sites on ribonucleic acids (RNA).
Expert has utilized many molecular biology techniques as he has studied the ribosome, the protein factory of cells. The process of translating the DNA message into protein via messenger RNA intermediates is central to his research.
He has over forty years experience studying nucleic acid structure and function. He has developed novel techniques and new approaches to understanding the dynamics of nucleic acid interactions.
Expert taught graduate courses in physical biochemistry for over 30 years. The material covered hydrodynamic interactions, as well as all pciophysical techniques applied to biological macromolecules.
Expert is an expert in protein biosynthesis. He has studied the ribosome where protein synthesis takes place for over forty years. He is still studying the complex interactions that take place between tRNA, mRNA and many factors to create specific proteins from the genetic code.

| Selected Consulting Examples: |
-
He served as an expert witness and consultant for Merchant & Gould. In this case involving inventorships, he reviewed the patents at issue, identified the salient claims, wrote a 50-page report outlining the case in general and the specifics involved, and prepared documentation to substantiate his findings. Expert was subject to deposition in this case. This case was settled between the parties involved.
-
He served as a consultant and an expert witness in a fraudulent inventorship claim. There were serveral patents at issue on which the client should have been named an inventor, but was not included. Expert prepared a 30-page report outlining his findings and defining the terminology involved. This case has not been resolved, but was terminated due to financial exigencies.
-
Expert served as an expert witness in a patent litigation involving two companies, each of whom claimed inventorship of a hybridization technique, useful for rapd screening of harful organisms. Reports were prepared and depositions taken, but the client was unable to pursue due to lack of funding. Expert was subject to deposition in this case.
