Expert has over 25 years experience in manufacturing engineering. Starting at IBM in 1982, he was part of a group called Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. This group was responsible for developing the factory of the future and included cleanroom design, materials, surface treatment and cleaning technology development, robotics engineering and numerical control machining. From there he went on to lead a team of 6 engineers and 5 technicians solving problems in high volume manufacturing for IBM locations across the globe. His subsequent positions at Seagate Technology, Micropolis and Western Digital demonstrate both his leadership ability and technical acumen. He has taken on responsibility for solving problems outside of his primary areas with great success. He is known as the go-to guy when engineering teams struggle with especially complex problems. And he does this without demanding recognition, but rather promotes the contributions of his team members.

| Selected Consulting Examples: |
-
Consult on the manufacture of disk drives and on the control of suppliers for disk drive components. Consultation on semiconductor manufacture. Most importantly, consultation on flat pane display manufacture when no out sider was allowed into the factory. All observations held in strict confidence.
-
Consult on the quality issues and corrective actions for media suppliers (Fuji Electric, StorMedia, Komag, etc.) Internal consultation on media manufacture at ST factories.
-
Consult to chip manufacturers in Taiwan and Singapore. Multiple manufacturers involved. Facilities, process and design reviews to determine causes of yield loss and customer returns. This included audits and analysis of specialty chemical manufacturing, precision/specialty chemical suppliers and indirect materials suppliers.
-
Elimination of J-panel body corrosion for GM. In one visit, he identified the root cause and advised a short term work-around to alleviate the problem.
-
Identified source of contamination and provided corrective action within 30 minutes at a media manufacturing facility in Singapore for Seagate ( after leaving Seagate to be come an independent consultant). This problem had been in existence, without diagnosis or solution for over 10 days.
