He has held membership in various professional organizations, and has served as an officer as well as in other capacities within these organizations. He has also served in an administrative, clinical, advisory, or committee-related capacity for a host of organizations including health-care institutions, governmental agencies, private industry, or community service groups. Further, he has been the recipient of academic and work-related awards and honors, including being named chief pharmacy resident; elected to fellow status by the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, among others.
His clinical practice revolves around the provision of patient-focused pharmaceutical care, as well as drug information and literature evaluation services to health-care providers. Specifically, he provides inpatient and outpatient clinical/dispensing services to regionally located hospitals and community pharmacies, as well as provide patient-specific drug utilization reviews on behalf of individual patients and 3rd-parties. He systematically reviews patients' drug regimens and make recommendations on ways to optimize therapy with a particular emphasis on assessing drug misadventures (e.g. adverse drug reactions, drug interactions, medication errors, etc.). A pharmacoepidemiologic assessment and prevention of drug-related morbidity has been the primary theme throughout my work experience, as he has co-chaired the drug-related morbidity subcommittees at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center; was responsibility for summarizing and reporting adverse drug events to the FDA as my primary role in clinical research in the pharmaceutical industry; and have served on the editorial review board for the Adverse Reaction Reporter® software for Facts & Comparisons, a peer-reviewed drug reference aimed at aiding in the assessment and reporting of adverse drug reactions. Further, he has lectured extensively on proper drug selection and drug safety issues to professional and community groups.
