agricultural chemical expert |
Agricultural chemicals have been in existance for many years. There have been many changes over the years, resulting in much safer chemicals to both humans, animals, and the environment. We rely heavily on chemical usuage to keep weeds under control, for better crops, better yields, and cleaner fields. As an industry, we strive for safety for the handler, and those coming into any form of contact with the chemicals. We use buffer strips and zones to prevent chemicals from coming into contact with wells, drainage into ditches and streams, and do everything possible to keep them where they belong. |
agricultural chemical environmental effect expert |
The chemicals in use today, compared to the chemicals used some 30 years ago, when he first started using them, have improved tremendously. Chemicals in use today are in much smaller amounts, and are much safer to the environment, and also for the handlers. We have improved in drift issues, water pollution issues, and rates per acre resulting in less carryover issues. We have improved in application methods and timing, making less chemical required to do the job effectively. We have created a much safer environment for all those who are involved in it. |
agricultural crop expert |
Expert has been involved in various agricultural crops since he graduated from college in 1976. These include corn, soybeans, wheat, alfalfa and other hay crops, and pastures. He has been involved in seed selection, matching to soil types and management practices, planting procedures, scouting through the growing season, harvest, and from spending several years in the grain elevator business, he has worked in the proper storage of grain and keeping in good condition, and finally the marketing the grain. |
agricultural pesticide expert |
Agricultural pesticides fall in the same category as agricultural chemicals. To David, chemicals, insecticides, fungicides, all fall into the same group, because they are all used in an effective chemical program. We have to be knowledgeable in all of them. When he scouts a field, Expert doesn't look for one thing. He is out there to observe any activity taking place in the field. When following up on a problem, he goes into a field with an open mind, so he can process any possibilities to come up with a workable solution. |
chemical marketing expert |
Chemical marketing can be looked at several ways. In his line of work as a Sales Agronomist, Expert markets chemicals every time he speaks with a client. We handle many different chemicals in our business, so we have to use programs to accomplish specific goals, budgets, history of problems, and our own bottom line. Marketing chemicals can be described as using the best product to do the job correctly, keeping in mind the customers needs, farming practices, financial abilities, history, and some good old common sense. We have to be very flexible in what we do, and Expert strives to come up with the best solution for the problem. |
pesticide expert |
Pesticides are a large group including weed control, insecticides for insect control, fungicides for disease control. We use them all in our line of work in order to find solutions for problems as they arise, whatever that may be. |
plant biotechnology expert |
Expert has seen many improvements in plant biotechnology including Roundup Ready, Bt for corn bore control, CRW for corn rootworm control, Liberty Link, Herculex and Herculex Extra. He is able to get many different combinations of the above traits in different hybrids and varieties. In some parts of the world, biotechnology has not been accepted well, however, he believes we have only scratched the surface and will see tremendous specific traits in the future that will make crop production much more effective and meet the demands for many specific needs. |
retailing expert |
Retailing is the process of passing information about a specific product, program, or item to meet the needs of a customer. Expert does this everyday, as a Sales Agronomist. Retailing is Sales, and without Sales, there is not a need for sales people. He informs customers about ways to solve problems, based upon the customer's individual needs. He may solve the same problem for two different customers in different ways, according to what fits that customer. It is listening to a customer, finding out what the real problem is, asking questions, and coming up with a solution to fit their needs. |
