Since 2000 work under his own company AXIS Polymer Services Inc has focused heavily on providing consulting and technical support services relating to plastics, wood fibre reinforced thermoplastics and glass fibre reinforced thermosets. Extensive exposure to material degradation resulted from a 19 year career with Ciba Specialty Chemicals in their world leading Polymer Additives business unit. He held positions as: Technical Sales Representative, Industry Specialist, Industry Manager, Industry Manager + Customer Support Manager, Industry Manager + Global Market Representative, Industry Manager + Global Market Representative + Account Manager USA. The additive types where he developed expertise included: antioxidants for processing, compounding and long term thermal stability and light stabilizers for long term weathering stability. He worked extensively with resin producers, compounders, processors and end users to understand their stability needs and to introduce additive technologies which brought technical and cost performance advantages. His work included coordination of technical services to demonstrate product performance and to solve stability problems. The industry groups which he focused on included: commodity thermoplastics, engineering thermoplastics, thermoset plastics, adhesives and elastomers. Responsibility as Global Market Representative for Business Segment - Elastomers, Adhesives and Polyurethanes was to represent the needs of customers in all aspects of business planning, growth strategies and sales implementation. Responsibility as Account Manager USA included NAFTA coordination of all sales and technical service activities for a group of multinational accounts based in mid-west USA.
His accomplishments included: proven ability to build and maintain long term working relationships with a wide range of customer contacts including purchasing, scientific, engineering and marketing, excellent relationships with reporters, peers and management throughout working experience, effective communication, team participation and team leadership. He achieved high level of sales success mainly through dramatic market share gains. He prevented penetration of markets by competitors in spite of the expiration of key patents and proliferation of look-a-like products. He also provided international leadership in the introduction of new products.
