In the design of these products he has used Design for Six Sigma techniques and has been the technical project leader for products using Value Package Introduction and stage gate processes. He is the primary author on three patents relating to crankcase ventilation and is co-author on two patents pending on crankcase ventilation. He has been involved in cost reduction projects involving existing automotive filters. He is familar with vendor selection for materials used in automotive filters. He played an important engineering role in introducing a new product line of crankcase ventialtion filters that is currently used in aftermarket and original equipment applications. He is active on test standards committees for automotive filters for the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the International Standards Organization (ISO). He has been involved in plastic part design for automotive applications.

He has been involved in the product design and development, marketing, and testing of filters.
