After graduation from Brown University with an engineering degree, the expert worked as an engineer designing electrical substations, transformer vaults, overhead and underground lines. The expert earned his first patents for a condulator, and started a company to manufacuture and sell it. He later became a design engineer for GE, followed by engineering manager, where he was responsible for half of the GE wiring device line. He moved on in his career and became vice president of Engineering for Daniel Woodhead Company, overseeing the wiring device product line. He returned to GE in a management of engineering position in the circuit design area, where he was involved in molded case circuit breakers, GFCI's (ground fault circuit interpreters) and related products. He became actively involved on many electrical committees, including Chairman of the NEC Panel 2, NEMA Codes and Standards Committee, NEC Correlating Committee, and many international committees of the IEC. The expert became a "technical lobbyist" in many ways. After his retirement, he has been actively consulting and pursuing considerable work as an expert witness involving electrical products.
