superabsorbent polymer expert |
Expert is the inventor and co-inventor of some of the industry-changing patents in superabsorbent polymers. Examples include those covering the ability of superabsorbent polymer to absorb under load (AUL) and expand the absorbent structure due to properly specifying the particle size relative to the pore structure of the containing structure. He has worked with almost all of the superabsorbent suppliers in the industry including Dow, Stockhausen (deGussa), BASF (Hoerchst Celanese, Clariant, Chemdahl), SanDia (Sanyo, Mitsubishi), and Sumitomo Seika. |

diaper fabric expert
diaper expert |
Expert has over 28 years of experience working in diaper and associated research and development areas for Kimberly-Clark Corporation, a premier consumer products company. Although his specialty is absorbent materials, systems, and their application in absorbent products, he also is knowledgeable in fastening systems, outer cover and body side liner, elastomerics, manufacturing/converting processes (especially those dealing with superabsorbent and pulp converting), market research testing, and intellectual property management. Many of the 15 U.S. patents issued and the 13 patent applications (seven published) testify to his creativity and knowledge in these areas. |
|
absorbent material expert |
In almost all of Expert's 37 years working for Kimberly-Clark Corporation, he has worked in and established himself as one of the premier experts in absorbent materials. Examples of his experience range from determining fiber furnish, establishing bond patterns, and developing the fiberizing, air-laying and bonding process for light weight air-laid tissue; establishing acceptable amounts of inferior (less expensive) fluff pulp and reclaim diaper waste; absorbent wrapsheet properties; internal bonding to structure the absorbent core; choosing the superabsorbent; inventing new superabsorbent properties; working with vendors to produce the superabsorbent and establishing novel ways of blending superabsorbent and fluff fiber for diapers; conceiving and developing novel absorbent systems combining nonwoven technologies with superabsorbent including in-situ polymerized superabsorbent; and protecting the inventions with numerous U.S. and worldwide patents. |
|
superabsorbent material expert |
Expert's expertise is recognized globally as well as within Kimberly-Clark Corporation where he first started working with superabsorbent (also known as xerogel or hydrogel) material in 1977. His expertise ranges from knowing critical superabsorbent polymer properties, evaluation/testing techniques, alternative chemistries to achieve properties, and how to combine superabsorbents with other raw materials to make more effective absorbent systems for use in personal care products. This expertise includes not only combining superabsorbent and/or superabsorbent precursor materials with fluff pulp but also various nonwoven processes including bonded carded webs, spunbond webs and meltblown webs. |
