Abrasive blasting has been a solution to many applied coating situations. Expert has used this technique of preparation for a variety of applications over the past thirty years--everything from finite etching of glass to coarse surface preparation of classifier chutes in a coal processing plant. Blast cleaning is one of many ways to prepare a substrate for various coating applications. Expert has, through the years, been directly involved with a variety of applications requiring blast cleaning, including everything from coal mine equipment to the finest laparascopic probes. All processes require an in-depth evaluation of substrate configuration, base material, profile requirements, and media to be used.

Many of the products we use require some form of surface preparation. Even those that incorporate chemical etchants are at times in need of a properly-prepared surface to enhance adhesion. Surface profiling is key to this process. The peaks and valleys of the prepared substrate all are essential and necessary to the final success of the finished product.

Expert has over thirty years of experience in not only the application but also the formulation of a variety of carbon-based (organic) coating compounds. He understands the dos and don'ts of where and when to utilize them. Their reactions to various environments and their compatability with other compounds have all culminated into a broad base of expertise.

Substrates, use environment, processing characteristics, and organic coating properties are all key factors that relate directly to the organic coating process. Expert has, through many years of hands-on experience and in-depth research, been directly involved in standard application techniques and has developed new methods for organic coating processes.

Paramount to all attachments of either organic or inorganic compounds is surface preparation. As an example, even house paint will not do what it is formulated to do if it is applied the surface has not been properly prepared.

Expert' career in Teflon started in 1968. You might say it was love at first coat. He has worked with and researched a multitude of Teflon-related products and holds two patents for sprayable Teflon materials. Teflon coating materials are certainly not new, but new uses are being developed almost daily. The properties of these coating materials lend themselves to a large variety of applications within many industries. Substrates for Teflon can be wood, cloth, paper, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and many types of plastic materials.
