Expert has been assigned over 20 patents for his work with metal honeycomb catalysts. He works with metal corrugated foil (about 0.002-inches thick), coated with alumina washcoat, and impregnated with a platinum metal. The coated foil is folded upon itself or is wound up to make the finished honeycomb catalyst. He has developed a process for the commercial manufacture of the commodity catalyst palladium on carbon powder. He has also developed several specialty catalysts for specific reactions.

Expert is familiar with the construction of honeycomb designs for automotive catalytic converters and holds six patents in this area (one pending). He can answer questions on the electrical insulation coating for an electrically-heated automobile converter.

CONFINED SPACE CLEAN AIR SYSTEM. Expert has patented a compact device that cleans air with minimum energy input in confined spaces such as submarines, spacecraft, or jet airliners. The absorbent used is a hydrophobic zeolite that is coated onto a metal foil.

METAL HYDRIDE HEAT PUMP. Expert has developed a process where waste heat can drive a heat pump to improve refrigeration. This method involves the mixing of a metal hydride with silicone rubber. It is then painted on a surface and let vulcanize in place.
