Expert has worked with cellulose and modified cellulose polymers such as paper, CA, HEC, and CMC. He has worked with thermoplastic elastomers such as TPU, TPO, and TPR and with elastomers such as natural rubber, EPR, EPDM, SBR, nitrile, polyurethanes, and silicone elastomers. He also has had experience with many fluorine based elastomers, fluorosilicone elastomers, and water soluble polyethers such as PEO, PPO, Polyox, and Carbowax. He has worked with other water soluble and dispersible polymers such as polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl acetate, as well as polyamines such as TETA, TEPA, polyethyleneimine, and related ethanolamines. He has done some recent work with preceramic polymers such as polysilizanes and inorganic polymers (high performance ceramics) such as silicon nitride, carbide, oxynitride, zirconia, and alumina.

Expert's expertise includes grafting acrylics and vinyls onto PE and PP. This has involved grafting maleic anhydride or trialkoxyvinylsilane while minimizing cross linking of PE and reducing MW loss on PP. He has worked with rubber grafted impact modified nylons. He is familiar with creating alloys of nylons and fluoropolymers by reactive processing. His expertise also includes rigid and flexible, chemical and physical, and extruded and injection molded foams.

Expert has expertise in fiber and mineral modified polymers. The fibers include those of glass, carbon, and sisal while the minerals include talc, mica, silica, abrasives. He is also familiar with grinding wheels and glass-fiber-reinforced fast-crystallizing PET.

He has worked with fillers having negative coefficients of thermal expansion, thermal stabilizers, antioxidant systems, durable polymers, hydrolytic stability, and impact modified and toughened resins.
