Listed with other top experts in:

DYESTUFF SYNTHESIS; DIRECT DYE; ACID DYE; NEUTRAL DYE. Expert has over 35 years of experience in the dyestuff industry working for an international chemical corporation. He has done R&D and helped manufacture the following classes of dyes for textiles, paper and leather: acid, direct, mordant, neutral, solvent, reactive, disperse, metallized, and basic.

DISPERSE DYES. Expert has developed 25 disperse dyes for the hydrophobic fibers polyester, nylon, and acetate. Some of the large volume dyes he developed and helped manufacture were disperse blue 79, 281, disperse orange 30, 41, 44, and disperse red 167. He holds worldwide patents in this area.

DYE INTERMEDIATES. Expert has developed a number of dye intermediates for dyestuffs, especially disperse dyes. His work has involved acylations, nitrations, reductions, oxidations, cyanoethyations, ethoxylations, and condensations.

IDENTIFICATION OF COMPETITIVE DYES. To keep abreast of dyes in commercial use, Expert determined the chemical structure of competitive dyes. He used thin layer chromatography, high pressure liquid chromatography, and mass spectrometry.

DYE WASTEWATER TREATMENT; DYE ENVIRONMENTAL EFFECT. Expert is an expert in many aspects of dye wastewater treatment. He has used biological, physical, and chemical methods, such as adsorption, reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration, coagulation, flocculation, reduction, and oxidation.

CARBON ADSORPTION. Expert has conducted numerous lab studies dealing with carbon adsorption on the different classes of dyes crucial to the design of new dye waste treatment facilities.

POLLUTION PREVENTION. Expert has successfully implemented pollution prevention, source reduction, and waste minimization procedures in the synthesis and manufacture of organic intermediates, dyes, and pigments.

LEGAL PATENTING OF DYES. Expert has kept abreast of US and international patents involving dyes for over 35 years. He is an expert at evaluating the validity, infringement, and possible circumvention of patents on dyes.
