Expert has over 49 years of experience in the ceramic whitewares industry, covering dinnerware, wall and floor tile, and sanitary ware. While with The Pfaltzgraff Company, he held company wide responsibility for the functions of ceramic engineering, decorating development, industrial engineering, CAD/CAM technology, process control, and quality assurance. His work encompassed several major expansion projects for new facilities; cost saving programs; introduction of new manufacturing technology and products; development of bone china product and manufacturing facility; and involvement in FDA and environmental regulatory issues.

In 1991, Expert established an international ceramic whitewares consulting firm. He assists in establishing cost effective engineering approaches to solving ceramic problems in manufacturing; development of products and processes, as well as improved ceramic formulations; cost reduction; productivity and quality improvement; equipment specifications; state-of-the-art manufacturing technology; facility expansion programs; and the import and marketing of quality ceramic dinnerware and giftware products. He developed special bodies (compositions) for bake and cookware, as well as high strength, durable institutional ware.

Expert was involved in development work related to the introduction of dry press technology, spray drying, in line decorating-drying-glazing, and semi fast firing of products (tunnel kilns). The process resulted in a labor requirement of one-third of the conventional forming and processing system. Expert expanded and developed the dry press technology for non-symmetric products, such as airline trays, platters, and bakeware items.

Expert worked on the development of lead free glaze and color systems for china products, bone china, and stoneware. He implemented new decorating systems for underglaze/overglaze decal application; underglaze/inglaze decal technology; and direct application and banding.
