fluorescent lamp expert
fluorescent lighting system expert
high-intensity discharge lamp expert |
LAMPS; LIGHTING; FLUORESCENT LAMP; HIGH INTENSITY DISCHARGE LAMPS. Expert is currently leading a university research project in collaboration with and funded by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and Osram-Sylvania Inc. This work regards fundamental problems related to new types of fluorescent lighting. His research with the EPRI and Osram-Sylvania is nonproprietary and he is willing to consult in this area. |
|
atomic physics expert |
Expert is an atomic physicist and a leading expert on the spectroscopy of low temperature (non-Fusion) plasmas for lighting and other applications. His current research interests include development of advanced diagnostic and modeling techniques for such plasmas. His diagnostic work involves a variety of laser and synchrotron radiation techniques spanning the electromagnetic spectrum from the Infrared to Visible to Ultraviolet to X-ray regions. His modeling of low temperature or weakly ionized plasmas usually emphasizes kinetic theory approaches. His recent work has focused on radiation transport issues. He is also active in basic atomic spectroscopy, specifically in the development and application of advanced techniques to measure atomic transition probabilities needed for quantitative spectroscopy. |
|
metal halide lamp expert |
Expert has worked closely with major lighting companies including Philips, Osram Sylvania, and General Electric on metal halide high intensity discharge lamps. His primary expertise is in diagnosing these lamps. He is particularly interested in understanding and controlling infrared losses from such lamps. |
|
low-temperature plasma expert
plasma diagnostics expert |
LOW TEMPERATURE PLASMA PHYSICS. Expert studies glow discharge plasmas. These glow discharges are used as sources of coherent (laser) and incoherent light, for the plasma processing of materials and for other applications. He is one of the leading experts on the physics of glow discharges, especially on the sheaths (or boundary regions) of these discharges. He has published many papers in this area, and he has won a major prize from the American Physical Society and received the International Penning Award for his research. |
|
ultraviolet spectroscopy expert
ultraviolet radiation energy expert |
ULTRAVIOLET SPECTROSCOPY; ULTRAVIOLET RADIATION. Expert has more than 15 years of experience as leader of a major university research effort on ultraviolet spectroscopy. He has published more than 50 papers in this area. He is familiar with almost all aspects of generating, controlling, and detecting ultraviolet radiation. |
|
tunable laser expert
pulsed laser expert |
TUNABLE LASERS; PULSED LASERS. Expert has approximately 20 years of experience with tunable dye lasers. He has helped design commercial dye lasers. He uses pulsed dye lasers pumped by N2, excimer, and Nd:Yag lasers. He also uses a continuous dye laser pumped by Argon ion lasers. He is intimately familiar with pulsed laser technologies. |
|
discharge lamp expert
gas discharge tube expert
glow discharge expert |
DISCHARGE LAMP; GAS DISCHARGE TUBE; GLOW DISCHARGE. Expert is a leading expert on the physics of glow discharges. His work on diagnosing and modeling glow discharges has received much attention worldwide. He has developed highly innovative laser diagnostics of glow discharge, and he has contributed to the development of kinetic theory models of discharges. |
|
laser-induced fluorescence expert |
LASER-INDUCED FLUORESCENCE; FLUORESCENCE. Expert has used laser-induced fluorescence as a plasma diagnostic and for basic spectroscopy. He has published more than 50 papers involving laser-induced fluorescence. |
