acoustic noise expert
acoustic property expert
acoustic science expert
gas acoustics expert
liquid acoustic property expert
non-linear acoustics expert
solid acoustic property expert |
Expert's has studied theoretical acoustics for the past 20 years. His work is strongly mathematical, extending beyond the wave equation to non-linear acoustics and propagation and to noise and even temperature. His work applies to a very wide range of practical issues, including optical and other electromagnetic propagation, music, and synthesis. Expert's experience in this area ranges from transportation requirements to MIL-SPEC testing of electronic equipment. From a more theoretical point of view, Expert has been interested in the connection between vibration and sound (noise) generation and the modelling of structures for their resonant frequencies.

acoustic signal processing expert
array signal processing expert
pump noise expert
sonar expert
sonar array expert |
For over twenty years Expert has been involved in the development of sonar systems. His work has involved all aspects of active and passive sonar design. It has included conceptual formulation and circuit design & testing. Specialized work has included bathymetric and hydrographic sonars. Expert has worked to manipulate electrical signals to extract information. He has over thirty years of experience in wrestling with various aspects of signal processing, from highly theoretical to practical devices and algorithms. He has also manipulated numerous signals from an array of sensors in working to find traditional and unique solutions to active and passive sonar beam-forming. This experience in array processing also includes linear image-processing. In his work on control, Expert has applied control theory to a large number of non-classical problems such as wave propagation, structural analysis, mathematics, modelling, and generalized feedback networks. Expert has developed a 60KW projector array for a large sonar system. He has extensive knowledge of materials, processing, fabrication, and testing array elements singly and in-situ. He has also produced devices based on PVDF film. |
|
fan noise expert
jet aircraft noise expert
jet engine noise expert
motor noise expert |
Expert has been principal engineer in measuring machinery noise in a large plant on a project where aircraft carriers needed to measure noise as a prelude to torpedo avoidance. He has significant experience with noise reduction and masking for submarines and an abundance of experience related to cavitation noise and noise measurement in the oceans. He has studied problems associated with highway noise, jet aircraft noise, motor noise, pump noise, fan noise, and other noise sources associated with rotating devices.
|
|
naval architecture expert |
Expert's fairly extensive experience in naval architecture has involved human habitability, sonar equipment design and operation (both from machine and human standpoints), and sonar array design and placement. Most of his work has involved submarines, but some has included surface ships. He has been deeply involved in the design of ocean implantments. He has also worked extensively on studying the effects of oceanic energy, swell, and waves on mobile and fixed surface and subsurface structures. Expert has sailed in submarines, designed equipment for them, and instrumented them both internally and externally. |
|
hydrodynamics expert |
Expert has worked on the development of theoretical acoustics from basic hydrodynamics. He has been interested in applications to infrasound and subsonic aerodynamics, non-linear wave propagation, and applications to parametric sonars. |
|
medical ultrasonics expert |
Expert has had a modest involvement with NDT based on ultrasonics for determining quality of weldments. He has designed ultrasonic equipment for fish-tags. He is developing ultrasonic instrumentation for medical diagnosis.
|
|
gas acoustic property expert
liquid acoustics expert
solid acoustics expert |
Expert has worked to determine the acoustical properties of gases, liquids, and solids. He has a fundamental theoretical understanding of the underlying physical processes, which he has employed to generate insight into test results.
|
|
mathematics expert |
Expert has taught at the university level. He has applied many branches of this subject to practical problems for over thirty years. |
|
electronics science expert |
Expert has mostly theoretical knowledge on device types, their interactions on chips, hybrid, thick and thin film devices, boards, and higher assemblies. He has concentrated his studies on applications rather than on the devices themselves. He has done much work on spectrum analyzers and performance expectations.
|
|
computer expert
software development environment expert |
Expert has worked with mini and micro computers since the early 70s. He is a proficient FORTH programmer and is experienced in UNIX, C, FORTRAN, and BASIC. He has specified a large, structured software development on a HP machine and then hired, trained, and led the development of a 10,000 line (source) real-time application in C. |
