For 27 years, Expert has taught introductory and intermediate dynamics to undergraduate and graduate students. He has written a dynamics text, and has developed software for IBM and IBM-compatible computers for problems in dynamics, strength of materials, vibrations, and applied mathematics. He has written over thirty publications on dynamics and vibrations.

For the past 30 years, Expert's main area of research has been vibrations. Over this period, he has taught courses in vibrations, and solved problems involving moderately damped, critically damped, and overdamped systems. His industrial experience was in the areas of vibrations and dynamics. He has developed software (IBM) for vibration analysis and evaluation.

Expert has developed an engineering analysis course which includes matrices, calculus of variations, numerical analysis, Laplace transforms, and finite difference techniques. This course is taken by both undergraduate and graduate students, and he has written software (IBM) to solve problems in it. He has received numerous University, College of Engineering, and student awards for teaching. In obtaining all three of his degrees, Expert had extensive training in classical mathematics through differential equations. He has also taught a senior graduate course in engineering mathematics.
