Expert is an expert in all fields of agglomeration (size enlargement). He is particularly experienced in pressure agglomeration using roller presses; he is the author of the only book on this subject ("Roll Pressing," Heyden & Son Ltd, 1976) and more recently, the only textbook on "Size Enlargement by Agglomeration," authored by Expert, was published by John Wiley & Sons in 1991.

hot briquetted iron expert
hot briquetting expert |
Expert has worked for a leader in the field of direct reduction of iron ores and has become an expert in this area. Through his involvement in hot briquetting of DRI (HBI), he has remained up-to-date on the development of this important technology. Expert has played a key role in the design efforts and operation of all existing facilities for producing hot briquetted iron. |
|
grinding (comminution) expert
comminution expert |
An expert on roller presses for briquetting and compacting of particulate solids, Expert has participated in the adoption of this equipment for comminution in a particle bed. Through his contacts with manufacturers of roller presses, he remains up-to-date on recent developments. |
|
cold granulation expert
granulation expert
fertilizer granulation expert
granulator expert |
Expert has expertise with the size enlargement of fine particles by agglomeration. This is accomplished by either using growth agglomeration, where granules are formed during tumbling after addition of a liquid binder (often water), or by compaction followed by crushing and screening steps.
|
|
deagglomeration expert |
Expert can answer questions on the mechanical break-up of undesired agglomerates formed by caking, build-up, bridging, and other processes. |
|
food product agglomeration expert
extrusion equipment expert
food spray drying expert |
Expert is knowledgeable of size enlargement of food product powders, which result in improved flowability and reduced segregation. He has found that dust losses are minimized after agglomeration of loose, highly porous agglomerates featuring "instant" characteristics (i.e., quick dissolution or dispersion in liquids such as instant coffee, instant milk powder, and others). |
|
dry fine powder agglomeration expert |
His work with dry fine powders has led to Expert's expertise in pressure agglomeration, which involves binding mechanisms by molecular forces. The products he has worked with include tablets, briquettes, and compacts. |
|
ore agglomeration expert |
Expert is familiar with size enlargement of natural ore fines or concentrates by agglomeration. The largest application he has worked on to date involved iron ore pelletization. He normally works with growth agglomeration of ores via drum or disc application.
|
|
particle fluidization expert
fluidized bed expert
fluidized bed agglomeration expert |
Expert has experience with the levitation of particles in a fluid flow. He understands how the size (mass) of particles must be matched with fluid flow velocity to keep particles suspended. The irregular movement of particles in such fluidized beds is used to accomplish granulation (size enlargement) of powders. |
|
particle-size analysis expert
particle characterization expert |
Expert has analyzed particle characteristics through a multitude of methods. The characteristics he has studied include size, size distribution, surface, shape, density, color, flowability, angle of repose, bulk density, and others.
|
|
mechanical processing technology expert
recycling expert |
During his entire career, Expert's was involved in mechanical process technology as a researcher, teacher, process developer, designer, vendor, and user. His particular experience is in the field of size enlargement by agglomeration. His expertise in mechanical process technology includes unit operations for particulate solids processing and handling as well as powder and bulk solids technology.
|
|
tablet manufacturing expert
tableting expert |
Expert can provide advice on the pressure agglomeration of fine powders into essentially flat, cylindrical compacts (tablets), most often used as oral drugs in the pharmaceutical industry but also used as a dosage unit in fertilizer, alloying element, and food applications.
