PAPER CHEMISTRY; WET-END CHEMISTRY; PAPERMAKING FINE-PARTICLE RETENTION. Expert has expertise in wet-end chemistry involving sizing, retention, deposit control, and most reaction steps and their interactions occurring at the wet part of the paper machine. He has been responsible for wet-end problems of all Westvaco mills, where he received ample practical experience. He is the author of over 100 technical papers and a well known lecturer at ACS and TAPPI conferences and seminars. He is a former Adjunct Professor of Paper Chemistry at SUNY in Syracuse, NY.

PAPER MILL CHEMISTRY. Expert has over 30 years experience in papermaking. He has been the leader of an engineering group at Westvaco engaged in technical problem-solving in nearly all areas of papermaking. He is actively consulting with many paper mills and supplier companies.

PAPERMAKING POLYMER. Expert has used polyacrylamide-based polymers as retention and drainage aids, polyacrylic acid-based polymers as dispersants and dry strength aids, and polyamines as the base of wet strength agents. He is familiar with the application and testing a variety of polymers used in papermaking.
