Expert is very interested in the thermal spray processing of hydroxyapatite and other phosphates, mainly for the production of bio-resorbable coatings.
Expert is also an expert on materials characterization and production of biomaterial coatings. He has concentrated his biomaterial studies on polymers used to manufacture sutures, cardiovascular vessels, knee ligaments, and bone analogues.
Expert is extremely knowledgeable regarding the use of electron microscopy, fracture mechanics methods, statistical analysis, and acoustic emission methodology.
Expert has also been heavily involved in the spheriodization of materials and their structural modification to produce controlled porosity materials. He is familiar with pore-size-distribution determination.
