While with Chevron, Expert was responsible for the following processes: HF and sulfuric alkylation, amine and sour water treating, sulfur recovery, tail gas treating, hydrogen and ammonia manufacturing, LPG and gas treating, polymerization, isomerization, and sulfuric acid regeneration. His activities in this capacity included consulting on technical service, process engineering, process, safety, training, and almost any other aspect of the process that arose. Expert represented Chevron at API, GRI, NPRA, and AIChE functions related to the above processes. He also guided Chevron's research efforts and conducted in-house process seminars for these processes.

Expert has experience recovering elemental sulfur from hydrogen sulfide resulting from petroleum refining or natural gas processing. He wrote the Sulfur Recovery chapter for the Air and Waste Management Engineering Handbook and has given presentations on sulfur recovery at a number of seminars.

|
Expert is highly knowledgeable regarding the process of combining chemically isobutane and light olefins to form a premium gasoline blending component, using both HF acid and sulfuric acid as a catalyst. Additionally, he is familiar with by-products of alkylation such as sulfuric acid.

|
Expert did a technical rewrite of the API HF alkylation safety standard, RP 751, before it went to successful ballot. He has presented at a number of seminars on process safety and participated in several HAZOP and other safety reviews. In his last few years at Chevron, he took on the responsibility for process hazards management implementation, particularly in HF alkylation.

| Description |
Expert spent three years in Belgium aiding in the start-up of Chevron's Feluy refinery. He had responsibility for production planning, crude and products pipeline movements, product quality assurance, and technical training. During this time, he became reasonably fluent in French.
