During nearly ten years with the Post Cereal Division of General Foods Corporation, Expert learned all of the formulation, processing, packaging, marketing, and distribution operations involved in producing ready-to-eat breakfast cereals. Products were based on corn, oats, rice, and wheat, Rice Puffs, Wheat Puffs, and Postum Cereal Beverage. Expert also performed competitive product and field performance surveys and at various times was responsible for troubleshooting, product and process improvement, new product development, and cost reduction programs for both RTE cereals and dry corn milling operations.

Since he started his consulting practice, Expert has participated in organizing and staging conferences for high tech entrepreneurs designed to instruct them in how to commercialize inventions, and start-up and manage a business. The most recent, a National Innovation Workshop, was sponsored by the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the Department of Energy. He was a co-chair and moderator of a conference on new packaging developments, Pack Alimentaire '92. Expert has also initiated and managed personal development programs for technical people reporting to him.

Expert has a record of successful new product development related to packaged foods and beverages; food ingredients; thermoplastics; plastic adhesives, inks, and coatings; foundry binder resins (urea formaldehyde/furfural alcohol resins); and basic and specialty chemicals. As a result, he is familiar with the development process from idea generation to market introduction of both consumer and industrial products in several industries. He also conducted various bench-top studies to do with catalytic reforming of natural gas, and design of coke oven batteries.
