He has developed products for specific end uses, providing finished products from fiber through all steps of manufacturing. He is an expert at problem solving and has served as an expert witness. He is proficient at testing and developing test methods and is also experienced at evaluating binders, fibers, and their performance. He played a key role in the development and manufacture of industrial fabric and fireproof nonwovens, such as those used in the suits of the space shuttle astronauts. He has worked with patent and copyright litigation in these areas. WOVEN FABRICS; AUTOMOTIVE TEXTILE; INDUSTRIAL FABRIC. Expert has worked with the design and weaves of multi-layer structures, industrial fabrics, and automotive fabrics. He is an expert in both harness and jacquard design and weaving. He has performed testing and developed test methods for woven fabrics. He has done patent litigation and served as an expert witness on patent and copyright protection and injury cases such as accidents involving broken belts or slings. In textiles, Expert is highly experienced in the development, design and application of woven fabrics. PAPERMAKING MACHINE CLOTHING. Expert has been active in the theoretical and practical design and manufacture of paper machine forming, press and dryer fabrics. Through his research into fabrics and fabric-like structures, he has pioneered the introduction of new technology in paper forming and dewatering. He is known for developing the world's first successful synthetic fourdrinier wire. He also has developed inside press fabrics and open mesh dryer fabrics. Expert's work has greatly improved and continues to improve papermaking economics. He has also used his expertise in these areas in conjunction with patent litigation and as an expert witness. IMAGE ANALYSIS; FRAME GRABBER. Expert is an expert in the use of image analysis equipment and software. He owns an image analyzing system and has done work for the FBI and Justice Department. Using a CCD camera and micro and macro photography, Expert can capture figures with a frame grabber and analyze them with a computer. He has done the analysis of materials, problem solving, quality evaluation, particle counting, and analysis of particle size distributions. His image analysis software is useful for obtaining information on parameters such as the area, perimeter, diameter, major axis length and breadth, squareness and surface texture, and other measurements. WOVEN CARPETING; TUFTED CARPETING. Having worked for a tufted carpeting manufacturer, Expert is knowledgeable of the materials used, processing techniques, testing, and analysis. Expert has served as an arbitrator on matters relating to woven and nonwoven fabrics and tufted carpeting. DIAPER COVERSTOCK. Expert is especially noted for developing the worlds first thermally bonded polypropylene nonwoven diaper cover stock.
